After seven years of having fun helping gamers pay online for virtual currency in their favorite games, our Ultimate Game Card (UGC) has formally retired. Ultimate Game Cards have been pulled from all retail stores and removed from online resellers. After September 30, 2014, consumers are no longer be able to buy VALID Ultimate Game Cards or redeem activated UGC codes.
Related to the UGC product retirement, UltimatePoints (UPoints) will also be shut down. The last day to redeem your UPoints will be October 31, 2014. Please note that some games might stop accepting UPoints before the retirement date so be sure to redeem your points sooner rather than later!
All consumers with valid activated Ultimate Game Cards that have not been redeemed will be issued a virtual Visa Gift Card in an $USD amount equal to the activated UGC face value. PlaySpan has engaged the services of a prepaid card program manager to facilitate the issuance of the virtual Visa Gift Card accounts to qualified users.
PlaySpan is currently performing the process to identify unredeemed UGC PIN codes and prepare the gift cards. Those that have valid UGC PIN codes will be able to access their gift card by October 15th. We will send an email to all UGC newsletter subscribers, announce availability on the UGC Facebook page and update this site with a direct link to the gift card access site.
We appreciate your patience and support while we go through this process.
Invalid PIN Codes
Ultimate Game Card generator sites / apps - As most of you know, there are a number of sites that claim to offer UGC PIN code generators. These codes are not valid UGC codes and not entitled to receive a virtual Visa Gift Card. For users that run these apps we suggest you run some very strong malware removal software that can remove root-kit level viruses.
Unauthorized UGC reseller sites - There are also a number of sites that sell invalid UGC PIN codes. We have always informed consumers to only buy from AUTHORIZED resellers - list of Authorized UGC resellers.
If you purchased a UGC code from a site not listed as an authorized reseller then it is not a valid UGC PIN code and therefore not entitled to a virtual Visa Gift Card.
Scams like these are not exclusive to UGC and its unfortunate they exist. However it is a reality and we all need to be cognizant they exist and use caution to avoid being scammed.
